Backstage at Elie Saab Fall Couture 2017

Paris Fall Couture Week has come to an end, so I bring you some of my favourite outfits and shows of the season.  Click on the link to see to the full collections.

Maria Grazia Chiuri's collection for Dior Fall Couture was a showcase of emotions through colours, imagery and floral work. Once again her set design was exceptional and only added to the ethnic vibes this couture collection held.

ELIE SAAB

This collection was truly Elie Saab meets Game of Thrones. My favourite thing about Elie Saab is how he manages to make all his collections divergent yet, they all manage to relate to one another. Whether it be through the colour, intricate patterns or even the headpieces used. The collection told the tale of warrior queens, through all their majestic beauty and attire.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

Giambattista Valli is what dreams are made of. You can imagine each piece been worn, some dawned in the street some at red carpets.

GUO PEI

This couture collection was no doubt a step down from Guo Pei's last collection, however it was still a graceful collection dedicated to the art of haute couture. She is known for using very rich colours and each piece of work displayed was designed with poise and elegance. Each piece is suitable for royalty.

Many collections ago Jean Paul Gaultier cemented his name into fashion industry. His collections still continue to create his legacy, one unlike any other. Each of his pieces are full of creativity and elegance.

ULYANA SERGEENKO

Ulyana Sergeenko was one of my favourite shows from the week. The entire collection reminded me of glamorous, independent and powerful women who would not let anyone get in the way of achieving their dreams.

VALENTINO

My favourite thing about Valentino is how minimalistic it is, or at least compared to the other couture collections featured this week. The collection was full of elegant, pastel coloured pieces, some plain colours and some embedded with patterns. It was another simple yet mesmerising collection.

ZUHAIR MURAD

Zuhair Murad once again delivered an artistically divine collection. I am forever in awe of his work. Compared to his last collection, this one was more toned down and restrained. Yet, each piece was as beautiful as the last.

Another amazing couture week full of some extremely beautiful collections. Congratulations to everyone involved in the entire process of creating these collections. Hopefully, next couture week we begin to see a bit more diversity.
Thanks for reading.
