Fashion Month has officially taken off, and the first leg - New York Fashion Week - has come to a close. It's often forgotten the amount of time and effort the people put into creating these magical collections which are consumed by the public's eyes, so I would just like to thank all the people involved in creating each magnificent collection which has been brought into our lives. I have made a list of my favourite collections below:

Cristian Sirano
Sirano's collection was one unlike any other. It was a collection full of diversity and inclusion. This collection was a compilation of vibrant, beautiful and refreshing pieces which were presented to us on glorious models, who flaunted their confidence while walking down the runway. Cristian Sirano, I applaud you for doing something the rest of the fashion industry is too afraid to do. I applaud you for your diverse collection. I applaud you for helping create change and redefine beauty within the fashion industry.

Victoria Beckham
A theme which was echoed throughout New York Fashion Week, was simplicity. Countless collections displayed were full of simple designs, colours and prints. There comes a point where simplicity can either be done perfectly or can bore you to death. Victoria Beckham's collection was one of the most exceptional examples to showcase what simple looks like when it is done right. Her collection was based off the idea that delicacy can be strong, and it was an idea which she executed brilliantly.

Area
Area's show was one which beamed with primary colours, repetitive prints and shades, which were all styled differently. The show was topped with the chic sunglasses and the incredible hairstyles, which really lifted the energy of the show. I loved how each look appeared both incredibly simple yet highly sophisticated.

Brandon Maxwell
Brandon Maxwell is a man whose collections always embody what the boss women would look like. Once again, his collection was filled with beguiling pieces, which made my heart rate rise quite a bit. Something I love about Brandon Maxwell is how his collections are not only filled with grace and poise, but diversity as well. Bravo!

Mansur Gavriel
For his first runway show, ever, Gavriel kept his collection sweet and simple.  Nevertheless it was an extremely beautiful collection, donned with the colours of spring and the style of winter. This collection was a sort of blast from the past, as scrunchies made an appearance in a more modern tone, it was also a collection full of checkered prints, which took me back to the style of the 70s. This collection is one I can see being worn on many people during the approaching winter.

Derek Lem
Derek Lem's collection was another quite minimalistic one, however, don't let that stop you from acknowledging the beauty within the collection. The collection radiated elegance and finesse. The entire collection was incredibly beautiful.

Naeem Khan
Naeem Khan never fails to amaze me with his collections. This collection was daring a bold, yet delicate and fragile. It was a collection made for those who dream, those who wonder, and those who explore. An exceptional collection, however, the lack of diversity disappointed me, even more so as Naeem is of Indian descent himself.

New York Fashion Week was an amazing start to the following month. Though quite a few of the collections swayed to the more simplistic and less daring side of fashion, they were all enjoyable collections.

Thanks for reading.
